SHERI'S STORY
Hi, I’m Sheri Karan, founder of Green Hat Projects.
For me, sustainability has never been a buzzword. It’s how I was raised: living off the land, using what we had, and wasting as little as possible. That mindset still guides every strategy I deliver today.
Since 2018, I’ve worked across the waste and recycling industry, with a strong focus on construction. I’ve seen how small changes can unlock big savings and lasting impact when you know where to look. That insight inspired me to launch Green Hat Projects and earn my LEED Green Associate credential.
But my work doesn’t stop at waste. Through Tree Talking, I lead workshops and create journaling kits that help people slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves in nature. What started as a personal healing practice after the loss of my husband has grown into a way to help others find clarity, courage, and resilience—whether in their work or their personal lives.
I also bring this perspective into business coaching. Having built multiple businesses—including an artisan food company still in production today, an eco-certified childcare, and a consulting practice—I know firsthand the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. I help small businesses and startups bring products to market, tighten up processes, and build purpose-driven operations that last.
Leaving my corporate role in 2025 gave me the freedom to bring it all together: sustainability, reflection, and entrepreneurship. Today, I partner with people and organizations who want to waste less, save more, and grow stronger; on the jobsite, in the office, and within themselves.
At the end of the day, I still believe what I did growing up: using what we have wisely isn’t just good business, it’s good living. And if we do it right, we leave more behind for the generations to come.
Whether you’re building a project, a business, or a more intentional life, I’d love to help you take the
next step.
— Sheri
