FAQs

Q

What does an owner’s representative do?

A

An owner's representative ensures efficient and controlled delivery of an owner’s needs throughout a project. This means we provide advice and management for project work and handle negotiations on your behalf.

To summarize, as owner's representatives we act as though it's our money we’re parting with—and make sure we get the best possible value for it!

Q

I need to expand my facilities. At what stage do I call you?

A

In short… now!

Developing clear goals and scope drives the success of a project. Involving a project management specialist early means you get the best value, because we can assist with project development, provide studies of installation options, and evaluate risks so that execution can go ahead without surprises.

Already started your project? Don’t worry. We can still step in at your current stage—and usually start saving you money and time almost right away.

Q

My capital project is relatively small, can you still help me?

A

Yes! We can assist at any level of project size. In fact, we prefer working with smaller companies and projects because we get to know you and your process (and appreciate your success!) on a deeper level.

Q

What is capital project management?

A

Capital project management oversees the development and/or installation of new facilities, new process lines, expansions, and any method of growth within your business that requires new components or improvements.

The management itself ensures scope, schedule, and budget are clear and controlled from start to finish on your project. This in turn means your business outcomes are realized and your project goals achieved.

Q

What is construction management?

A

Construction management oversees the construction phase of your project. Typical project management for capital projects includes this as part of the overall project management.

Construction management includes ensuring that deliverables and schedules meet requirements, resourcing meets project needs, and changes to design are minimized. In short, we make sure that you the owner receive the physical end product that you paid for at the start.

Q

What is the importance of a project feasibility study?

A

Though not always necessary, a feasibility study will provide analysis and details around project options and components (i.e. location of install, size of equipment, resource/contractor availability, schedule constraints, etc) which would have an impact on the probability of project success.

A study can compare and contrast risk, benefits, and overall project elements for your final selection. This can help you make the best project decision as it relates to your desired outcome for the business—whether it’s growth, efficiency gain, compliance, or any other factor.

Q

Which areas do you serve?

A

We primarily serve industrial and commercial markets in Washington State and Oregon, although we’re in the process of expanding to serve several other states. We specialize in small to medium manufacturing facilities projects and commercial projects, though we’re open to working for larger organizations on specialized projects.

We generally work with growing companies, investment groups, and entities needing temporary (short- or long-term) project expertise. We believe in using our proven processes as a guideline while treating every project as unique. This allows us to manage projects across a variety of industries in a consistent manner.
